I lived most of my life on the east coast but I moved to Colorado when I retired.   I noticed many differences.
Coloradoans are much less formal in dress - I haven't worn a suit in the ten years that I have lived here in Colorado.
Another big difference is the language - different words are used in Virginia and Colorado.
