The day began as always
tailgates, booze, and beer.
Then came the fireworks,
kickoff was quite near.

Scott Stadium soon was filled,
Virginia's fans were there.
The men were dressed in coat and tie,
The women had done their hair.

Then came in the Hokies,
prepared to fight, fight, fight.
Larsen's kick was high and deep,
Tiki ran with all his might.

Things soon did not look good,
the Hokies trailed for quite some time.
Virginia fans started to celebrate,
while Hokies began to whine.

Cavaliers from far and near,
declared "we've won the game!"
Virginia Tech's players
bowed their heads in shame.

Then Cornell Brown and J.C. Price
said, "no, no, no, no, no!
Hold it just one minute,
there's lot of time to go."

One sack, two sacks, then a third,
the defense began to thrive.
The Wahoos missed a field goal,
the Hokies began The Drive.

Fourth and ten to Corney White,
he reached out and caught the ball.
With less than a minute to go,
Jermaine Holmes got the call.

Drukenmiller dropped back to pass,
a pump fake, then the throw,
Holmes was open in the endzone,
no more yards to go.

The game was tied, then the snap,
the kick was up and in.
Virginia fans screamed out loud,
"Oh no, not again!"

Somewhere 'Hoos are happy,
and somewhere 'Hoos are gay.
Somewhere they sing the good ol' song
to dear old U.Va.

But all across the Old Dominion,
all Wahoos are aghast.
There is no joy in Charlottesville;
the Hokies kicked their ass.
