The Story of the Candy Cane

Long ago, a candy maker made a piece of candy that was created to remind us to celebrate Jesus at Christmas.

He began with white candy to represent the purity of the Lord and shaped it like a "J" for Jesus.

The red stripes remind us of the cost of our salvation that came through Jesus' blood shed on the cross.

He added peppermint flavor to symbolize the spices which were from the wise men.

When he turned it upside down, he saw that it became the staff of the Shepherd.
