On Worksheet #1 below, Attempt to find the smallest distance for CE + ED
by trying different positions for point E. The point that yields the
smallest sum also is the one point where a ball would rebound from point
C and end up at point D. This can be applicable to both billiards and to
miniature golf.
On Worksheet #2, you will use geometry to prove that this is the desired point. On Worksheet #3, you will use calculus to prove it.
