Joshua Tree National Park is located in southern California and is home to the Joshua Tree.   Actually, the Joshua tree is not a tree at all but a member of the Yucca family (cactus).   Two deserts converge in the park -- the Colorado Desert in the eastern half of the park below 3,000 feet above sea level, and the Mojave desert in the western half of the park above 3,000 feet.   The Joshua Trees are located in the Mojave Desert.

Joshua Tree National Park has numerous trails -- something for everyone from paved wheel-chair accessible paths to strenuous hikes.

Gram and Pops visited here in July 2012.
