Golden Spike National Historical Park commemorates the incredible accomplishment of this nation's first transcontinental railroad.   On May 10, 1869, the Union Pacific Railroad building from the East, and the Central Pacific Railroad building from the West, joined their rails at Promontory Summit.

Working replicas of the 1860's steam locomotives 'Jupiter' and '119' are in operation at the site.

Gram and Pops visited here in July 2007 with son Michael and his wife Kristine.
