Lesson #61
L'Hôpital's Rule

Quote of the Day:
"Mathematics, in one view, is the science of infinity." -- P. Davis and R. Hersh

Objectives:
The student will solve apply L'Hôpital's Rule to limit problems.

1. Collect homework.

2. L'Hôpital's Rule is a method for finding limits of functions which evaluate to 0/0.

3. Comments:
(A) If f'(a) = g'(a) = 0,
Then we may apply L'Hopital's Rule again.

(B) NOTE: L'Hopital's Rule does NOT apply if either the numerator or denominator is NOT equal to 0.

4. Examples:

6. Assignment:
p. 263 (1, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 39)
