Logical Sequences
by Shelly Hazard   GAMES
World of Puzzles October 2015

Each of these five sequences follows a logical progression.
What is the missing element in each sequence?

Solution to the Problem:

The answers are:
(#1) 25   (#2) 4   (#3) 7   (#4) Q   (#5) 4

#1   When moving down or to the right, the difference between each successive pair of numbers increases by 1.   Thus, 5 + 2 = 7, 7 + 3 = 10, 10 + 4 = 14, 14 + 5 = 19, and 19 + 6 = 25.

#2   Add 2 adjacent numbers and subtract 6 to get the number below and between them.

#3   Multiply the top by the bottom left corner and then add the bottom right corner to the product.

#4   Each equation is true if each letter is assigned the value of its position in the alphabet. (A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, etc.)

#5   Starting at either end of either row, add the first and third digits together, then subtract the second digit to get the number above it.
