The Chess Problem (revisited)

Back in 1999, I posted this chess problem, but now I am adding a restriction:

Place 16 chess pieces (or 16 checkers) on an 8 x 8 chess board so that
no three are in a line (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally).
Here is the new stipulation:
The first two pieces must be placed on two of the four central squares of the board.
