Mr. P recently sent this birthday card to a relative who reached a certain birthday.
How old was that relative?
Give the conversion factors for each of the following:
(1) Turning Human years to Dog years and
(2) Turning Human years to Redwood years.

Extra Credit: If you were the manufacturer of this card, what would be your message on the inside of the card?   (It should include the person's age)

Solution:

The person turned 50.
The conversion factors are:
(1) Turning Human years to Dog years: Human Years x 7 = Dog Years
(2) Turning Human years to Redwood years: Human years multiplied by 0.07 = Giant Redwood years

Here was the inside of the card that I sent:

Here are some of your answers for the inside of the card:

Colin Bowey sent in the following:
"In Dog years you’ve earned the right to nap anywhere anytime.
In giant redwood years you’ve still plenty of time to branch out and grow.
But in Turtle years you’d be 25, so you’re just reached your prime.
Now 50 doesn’t sound so Bad!
Does it?
Happy 50th Birthday."

Ivy Joseph sent in the following:
Let's celebrate the 29th anniversary of your 21st birthday.
You don't look a day over fabulous.

Rod Fletcher sent in the following:
"Congratulations on reaching 50.   That's something to bark about."
