The Grief Group at First Presbyterian Church has twelve members and they are grieving for eleven people. Using the clues below, can you determine for whom each person is grieving?
1. Biddy, Bob, David C., David P., Ellie, Kelly, Marjie, Nancy, Paddy, Pamela, Renee,
and Stan are grieving for Angie, Alice, Bill, Carol, Curtis, Jeff, Judy, Leonard
Margaret, Mike, and Thomas.
2. Nancy, Renee, the person grieving for Carol, the person grieving for Alice, and
Pamela were in the Grief Group in 2024.
3. Marjie and her husband are grieving for their daughter, but all other group
members are grieving for just one person.
4. Renee, Paddy, and Bob are grieving for Judy, Margaret, and Jeff, but not necessarily in that
order.
5. The people grieving for loved ones who passed away in the month of
November include Marjie, Renee, Stan, and the person grieving for Judy.
6. Alice, Carol, and Judy are grieved by their husbands Bob, David C. and David P.,
but not necessarily in that order.
7. Ellie and Biddy are grieving for Bill and Leonard.
8. Biddy is not grieving for Leonard.
9. Renee is grieving for her mother-in-law while Angie is being grieved for by her parents.
10. Paddy is grieving for her brother
11. Nancy’s husband died two years after Thomas and two years before Bill.
12. David C. mourns for his wife whose name begins with the letter A.
13. Kelly, Ellie, and Biddy are not grieving for Thomas or Mike.
14. Mike and the person Biddy is grieving for died in consecutive months (May, June).
Using the clues above, eliminate possibilities in the chart below to find who each person is grieving for.
Now connect each member of the group with the person they are grieving for.
Then find the five-pointed star and shade it in.
