In the Fall of 1993, the city of Brno in the Czech Republic experienced a surge of brain power as 52 competitors
from 13 countries checked in for the 2nd World Puzzle Championship.
Teams were composed of four players plus a nonplaying captain from each country.
The competition was spirited indeed: a 12-hour puzzle-solving marathon held in four sessions. The first three
consisted of 41 puzzles for individual honors; the fourth was made up of three puzzles involving teamwork.
