Casa Grande Ruins National Monument consists of the ruins of multiple structures surrounded by a compound wall constructed by the ancient people of the Hohokam period, who farmed the Gila Valley in the early 13th century.   It has a good visitor center with much information about the Hohokam people.   Outside are a number of large specimens of desert plants, including the saguaro cactus.

Gram and Pops visited here in April 2011.
