Congaree National Park is located in South Carolina and contains over 20,000 acres of federally designated wilderness that visitors can explore by either foot, kayak or canoe.
The Congaree River floodplain was established as Congaree Swamp National Monument in 1976 and then re-designated as Congaree National Park in 2003.
The park has over 25 miles of hiking trails and 2.4 miles of boardwalk. The boardwalk loop trail provides access to Weston Lake and other trails that wind through the Congaree floodplain.
Pops visited Congaree National Park with his daughter Elizabeth and her college friend Julie in November 2024.
