Denali National Park and Preserve

Denali National Park is the only national park with a working dog sled.   We saw a demonstration of the dog sled and the ranger really had to hang on for dear life!   We were allowed to pet the dogs at the Sled Dog Exhibition.

We took an eleven hour bus ride to Wonder Lake and back - it was a great way to see the park!   And we saw all kinds of wildlife, including 19 Grizzly bears, 27 Caribou, 21 Dall Sheep, 2 Moose (females), 1 ground squirrel, 1 mew gull, 2 small falcons, 3 Magpies, 1 Merlin, 2 Ptarmagins (the State bird, although some might argue that the mosquito should be), and 22 ducks.

Gram and Pops visited here in August 2012 with Gram's brother and his wife.
