Herbert Hoover National Historic Site is located in West Branch, Iowa,
where Hoover lived until he was eleven. He was born in a simple two-room
cottage, and was the son of Quakers.
The Herbert Hoover National Historic Site has a walking tour which illustrates several periods of his life.
His birthplace cottage, a blacksmith shop, a one-room Quaker Schoolhouse, a Friends Meetinghouse, his gravesite, and the
Presidential Library and Museum are all located on the grounds.
Gram and Pops visited here in September 2012.
