Minuteman Missile National Historic Site

Minuteman Missile National Historic Site is one of the newer National Park units.   Under the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) signed in 1991, the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. began to reduce their stockpile of nuclear arms.   In 1999, the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site was established; it was the first site dedicated excusively to Cold War events.

You can visit the Headquarters / Visitor Center at Exit 131 off of I-90; you can take a tour of the Launch Control Facility (Delta - 01) at exit 127; and you can see a Missile Silo (Delta -09) at exit 116.

Gram and Pops visited here in May 2013.
