Manassas National Battlefield Park was the scene of two major engagements during the Civil War.
It was here that General Thomas J. Jackson received his nickname from General Bernard Bee, when Bee rallied
the troops saying, "There stands Jackson like a Stonewall!" Jackson's steadfastness influenced
the outcome of both battles.
The park has walking trails and driving trails throughout the battlefield.
Gram and Pops visited here several times, the latest in October 2004.
