Ross Lake National Recreation Area offers camping, hiking and boating opportunities.   Three reservoirs — Ross, Diablo and Gorge — provide power for Seattle City Light and recreational activities for visitors.

The water in the rivers and lakes is very green because of the melting of the glaciers.
