I am mysterious, yet so close am I to reality.

I narrow things within this expanse of infinity from many to one, for my ultimate function is for exactness.

In this realm of space and time I am bound to none but logic and reasoning.

The pragmatist uses me for things concrete;
the artist-architect for his beautiful designs.

I give music its lively rhythm.

Phiosophers use me for the cultivation and growth of their creative and rational thought.   Everybody appreciates me for my precision.

I am, in a pure sense, the most abstract of all.

They call me mathematics.
